Guidelines for membership of the various categories are given below. The precise requirements for admission to each category of membership are set out in the constitution. Applications from suitably qualified individuals working outside of Ireland will be decided upon by the executive committee. Professional memberOpen to those who have a post-graduate degree in medical physics (or equivalent) and who are currently employed as a medical physicist in the health services in Ireland. Also open to similarly qualified academic, government and industry-based physicists whose work is making a significant contribution to the practice of physical and engineering sciences applied to medicine. Allied-professional memberOpen to interested members of linked professional groups working within medical physics departments in Ireland, including clinical engineering technician, medical physics technician, and dosimetrist. Student member Open to all students in the physical and engineering sciences, including postgraduate students, and trainee physicists who are not qualified for professional or allied-professional membership. Retired memberOpen to members who have retired from a career in medical physics or clinical engineering. Annual fees
